East Hartford, CT (PRWEB) November 4, 2009

An early snowstorm in the final days of October in the Colorado Front Range and Wyoming was Mother Natures approval for keeping the November start of the western ski season on schedule, if not accelerated. Colorado Ski Country USA announced that all 22 of its member resorts are on schedule to be open by Thanksgiving. Areas including Arapahoe Basin, Loveland and Copper Mountain are already open!

The storm is a reminder to skiers heading to the slopes to add travel insurance to their ski vacation bookings. Travel Insured International (http://www.travelinsured.com) has a menu of inclusive and optional coverage, including a Sports Coverage option, in four types of Worldwide Trip Protector plans to provide skiers with the most flexible travel insurance choices available. The products are designed to protect skiers prepaid travel money, including ski package components, and skiers risk of accident-related emergency medical expenses when they take to the slopes this winter. Some skiing activities not normally covered are protected with the Sports Coverage option.

Choices of plans include: Worldwide Trip Protector Gold for the most comprehensive benefits and highest benefit limits; Worldwide Trip Protector for comprehensive coverage with lesser benefit limits, but also lower premiums than WTP Gold; Worldwide Trip Protector Lite for essential, family-friendly coverage at the most affordable premiums, and Worldwide Trip Protector Lite Expanded for a cost-saving plan with value-added coverage, including School Day Extension, Missed Connection, and the ability to cover a Pre-Existing Medical Condition.

More Protection with Sports Coverage Option

Travel Insureds Sports Coverage option, available in every plan in the Worldwide Trip Protector line, provides coverage for pre-paid, non-refundable ski passes, ski lessons and equipment rentals that may be lost if the skier is forced to cancel the trip for a covered reason. It also can reimburse costs for ski equipment rentals needed if a skiers own equipment is delayed or misdirected on the way to the ski destination by a common carrier. Skiers planning to join a ski race or heli-ski tour add the Sports Coverage option to obtain Emergency Medical Expense coverage for these and many other bodily-contact sports activities not normally covered by a travel insurance plan.

Flying in and out of ski country during winter season has other potential risks covered by Travel Insureds Worldwide Trip Protector plans. Trip Delay coverage in Worldwide Trip Protector or Trip Protector Gold comprehensive plans is up to $ 200 per day for unplanned travel expenses caused by a common carrier delay of 6 hours or more hours, including for inclement weather. Trip Delay in Worldwide Trip Protector Lite or Lite Expanded covers the same expenses of up to $ 100 per day when the common carrier delay is 12 hours or more. Trip Delay coverage could even apply if a car accident, whether or not the insured travelers are involved, prevents their timely departure, or if their trip delay is caused by lost or stolen travel documents or money, a natural disaster, or an unannounced strike.

Strong Emergency Medical Expense

Each of the four Worldwide Trip Protector plans includes strong primary Emergency Medical Expense coverage with a range of benefit limits of between $ 10,000 and $ 50,000, depending on the specific plan selected, with a Medical Upgrade option available in all but the Worldwide Trip Protector Gold plan. Additionally, each plan includes Emergency Medical Evacuation, and the Worldwide Trip Protector and Trip Protector Gold plans includes Accidental Death & Dismemberment coverage for accidents that may occur during the ski trip.

Every Travel Insured International plan comes with inclusive Worldwide Emergency Travel Assistance, available 24/7 from anywhere, as well as available insurance guidance from courteous, professional customer service and claims people whose only business is travel insurance.

Skiers can avoid the slippery slope of traveling without insurance this winter. They can protect each ski trip with a plan from the Worldwide Trip Protector family of products from Travel Insured.

About Travel Insured International

Travel Insured delivers comprehensive travel protection benefits ranging from trip cancellation and trip interruption to emergency assistance and Medevac insurance, travel accident and sickness medical expense, accidental death and dismemberment, missed connection and baggage delay or loss.

The company’s travel insurance plans include its comprehensive Worldwide Trip Protector, the most popular travel protection plan and Worldwide Trip Protector Gold, an enhanced travel insurance plan designed to protect luxury vacations and business trips. Travel Insured also offers two travel insurance plans designed to provide basic yet flexible protection for families and budget conscious travelers, its Worldwide Trip Protector Lite insurance plan and Worldwide Trip Protector Lite Expanded insurance plan. Finally they offer an Airline Ticket Protector plan as well as a complete offering of Group Travel Insurance plans including Student Group insurance plans.

Visit Travel Insured’s web site at http://www.travelinsured.com or speak to a friendly, knowledgeable Travel Insured customer care professional at 1-800-243-3174.

Travel Insured International, based in East Hartford, Connecticut, was founded in 1993 by the foresight of insurance industry executive Peter Gehris when he acquired the travel protection division of the Travelers Insurance Company. Due to high demand, additional Pay-As-You-Play spaces in high-season have recently opened up at the remote backcountry Gothics Lodge, March 13 18, 2010, for a 5-day, over-the-top, heli-ski powder experience.

Heli-skiers are a committed group, with snow quality being of paramount importance. Pay-As-You Play trips allow skiers to mitigate the risk of snow conditions and maintain a budget, by allowing skiers to pay only for the skiing they choose to do. As much or as little as they want, and as conditions permit. The initial trip cost of only $ 4,190 CAD covers ground transfers to the lodge from Calgary, Canada, accommodation, meals and services, with skiers being charged only on the actual vertical they choose to ski. Trips come with no guaranteed footage, with skiers being charged at a rate of $ 145 CAD per 1,000 vertical meters skied (3,280 vertical feet). Because it is all about the skiing, these meters are calculated on the amount the skier travels down the mountain, not the vertical lift of the helicopter.

For heli-skiers who crave a guaranteed amount of powder, this same 5-day trip in the Gothics, March 13 18, 2010, offers the option of purchasing a Signature CMH experience for only $ 7,350 CAD with a guarantee of achieving 21,780 vertical meters (71,000 feet) of glorious skiing. Additional skiing beyond the guarantee is charge at $ 105 CAD per 1,000 vertical meters (3,280 vertical feet).

Heli-Skiing in the Gothics can be fast and furious. With just three groups of skiers sharing one Bell 212 helicopter, dedicated IFMGA and ACMG certified guides lead guests safely to some of the most coveted secret powder stashes in the Monashee and Selkirk Ranges of British Columbia.

Trips include ground transportation from Calgary, Canada; daily heli-skiing with IFMGA or ACMG certified guides; private lodge accommodation; gourmet meals, freshly prepared snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages; use of specially designed powder skis and poles; training in and use of avalanche transceivers.

For more information and to book, please go to http://www.CanadianMountainHolidays.com or call 1-800-661-0252.

About Canadian Mountain Holidays (CMH Heli-Skiing):

Offering heli-skiing since 1965, Canadian Mountain Holidays is the oldest and largest heli-skiing and heli-hiking operator in the world. From their head office in Banff, Alberta, CMH operates helicopter adventures from 12 different areas located in the Bugaboo, Purcell, Selkirk, Kootenay, Monashee, and Cariboo ranges of British Columbia, Canada. In an effort to offer the most comprehensive selection of Heli-Ski trips available anywhere on earth, the company is unveiling some major tweaks to its skiing programs for the 2011/2012 season:

ADAMANT LODGE: EXCLUSIVE SMALL-GROUP HELI-SKIING

In the 2011-12 season, the Adamant Lodge will be inaugurated as the first CMH lodge devoted exclusively to small-group skiing. Small groups at CMH represent the equivalent of a heli-skier hitting the slopes in a chauffeur-driven limousine a private powder paradise. The Bell 212 helicopter has been replaced by two Bell 407s, each of which handles just three groups of five skiers plus guide. The 407 offers supreme flexibility, can easily handle the pace of the hardest-charging crew and offers access to a terrific range of terrain choices. As an added bonus, Adamant small-group parties will pay the same high season pricing as regular groups did in 2010 enjoying a private nirvana starting at just CAD$ 8,750 for 7 days.

MONASHEE LODGE: LATE SEASON MEANS SMALLER GROUPS AND MORE ROOM TO MOVE

For skiing steep, 1,500-vertical-meter runs in bottomless snow through towering trees, CMH Monashees is legendary. As the season progresses and the days get longer, guests are able to wander through this vast tenure, skiing superb drainages that are further from the lodge. As a result, instead of skiing the regular model of four groups of eleven skiers in a Bell 212 helicopter, as of February 18, 2012, the Bell 212 will operate with only three groups and a Bell 407 will be added to the mix to transport two groups of five each for a small-group program. Ski big days on big slopes. Prices start at CAD$ 10,440 per person for small-group skiing and CAD$ 7,820 in the regular groups.

SHORT TRIPS: FOR THOSE WHO NEED A FIX BUT DONT HAVE 7 DAYS TO SPARE

Four- or five-day sessions are now available for each week of the heli-ski season in 2012 in at least one of CMHs eleven tenures including shorter stays on the new small-group trips. Prices start at CAD$ 3,450 for 4 days and $ 4,250 for 5 days.

CMH NOMADS: SKI MULTIPLE HELI-SKI AREAS ON ONE TRIP

This is the chance to ski through multiple heli-ski areas in search of the most stellar skiing available on any given day and in 2012, more Nomads departures than ever will be on offer. Think of it as a Heli-Ski safari jump in the chopper and go searching for the best snow. Nomads North operates out of Gothics Lodge and Nomads South operates out of Halcyon Hot Springs Resort.

CMH KOOTENAY: SAVE TIME AND MONEY WITHOUT SACRIFICING QUALITY

While none of CMHs lodges are exactly easy access (which, of course, is part of their appeal), Kootenay is the southernmost of CMHs tenures and its an easy transfer from Spokane, WA, to Nakusp, British Columbia, where guests will stay at the Kuskanax Lodge. The skiing is awesome and the lodge has the added appeal of being in a funky small town environment. This program is simple no fancy frills, no turn down service, just rocking good skiing, great food and a young, party atmosphere with folks who love to ski. CMHs motto for this trip is maximum shred for minimum bread.

NEXT GENERATION WEEK: APRIL 7 14, 2012

Taking place at CMHs world-renowned Bugaboo Lodge, where Heli-Skiing was born, this week is open to any skier, but for those who have someone between the ages of 12 25 who want to join the trip, its half price for half of the guaranteed meters thats CAD$ 6,600 for 7 days with 30,500 meters of skiing for adults and for those 25 and under, CAD$ 3,300 for 7 days and 15,250 meters of skiing. Parents of children between the ages of 12 and 19 are expected to ski with their children.

AND THERES MORE.

Book by April 30, 2011 and get a credit of CAD$ 100 off the price of each day of your trip.

For more information, visit http://www.cmhski.com, or call: 1-800-661-0252.

About CMH Heli-Skiing & Summer Adventures:

Offering heli-adventures since 1965, CMH Heli-Skiing & Summer Adventures is the worlds oldest and largest heli-skiing and heli-hiking operator. From their head office in Banff, Alberta, CMH operates exceptional mountain experiences at 11 lodges located in the Bugaboo, Purcell, Selkirk, Monashee, and Cariboo ranges of British Columbia, Canada. Heli-skiing takes place each year from December through April, and CMH Summer Adventures take place from July into early September.

# # #

More Heli Skiing Press Releases
