An early snowstorm in the final days of October in the Colorado Front Range and Wyoming was Mother Natures approval for keeping the November start of the western ski season on schedule, if not accelerated. Colorado Ski Country USA announced that all 22 of its member resorts are on schedule to be open by Thanksgiving. Areas including Arapahoe Basin, Loveland and Copper Mountain are already open!

The storm is a reminder to skiers heading to the slopes to add travel insurance to their ski vacation bookings. Helicopter skiing in British Columbia just got more accessible with high season Pay-As-You Play heli-ski programs. Due to high demand, additional Pay-As-You-Play spaces in high-season have recently opened up at the remote backcountry Gothics Lodge, March 13 18, 2010, for a 5-day, over-the-top, heli-ski powder experience.

Heli-skiers are a committed group, with snow quality being of paramount importance. Pay-As-You Play trips allow skiers to mitigate the risk of snow conditions and maintain a budget, by allowing skiers to pay only for the skiing they choose to do. An epic 36th season for Keystone is set in motion with the 36 Hours of Keystone.
