October 23, 2002 (PRWEB) October 26, 2002 -Skiing opens Silvertip Lodge -

the newest of the CMH lodges on January 4, 2003 for 10 weeks of Heli-Skiing accommodating private groups of up to 10 people. Located at the easternmost shore of the East Arm of Quesnel Lake, Silvertip was originally built in the 1960s as a fly-in fishing camp.

Silvertip encompasses 1462 square kilometres (564 square miles) of spectacular terrain in the Cariboo Mountain range and offers unlimited vertical skiing. The terrain borders on Wells-Gray Provincial Park, Cariboo Mountains Provincial Park and CMH McBride to the northeast, with few skiers ever having seen the rugged mountains of this very remote part of B.C. All skiing is undeveloped wilderness skiing; currently approximately 80 percent of the skiing will be in the trees.

Willy Trinker, lodge manger said, “Our inaugural ski season promises to be a great success – unlike any other CMH lodge, Silvertip may best be described as a mixture of Adamants, Galena and Kootenays type of terrain. Silvertip offers a fair amount of steep tree skiing and average runs are between the 700m and 100m mark. Undoubtedly, Silvertip offers challenges for even the most experienced Heli-Skier.”

Transport to Silvertip is via private charter plane from Calgary to the town of Williams Lake, followed by a 45-minute helicopter flight to the lodge.

While the construction is rustic and simple, the lodge is very comfortable. Silvertip has been upgraded and modernized yet retains the ambience of mountain remoteness and coziness. It consists of eight cozy guestrooms, each with two beds, shared bathrooms, a living room, dining room, a bar/lounge with a wood stove, massage room, and an outdoor, lakeside Jacuzzi and sauna. Of note, the sauna is located on the shore of Quesnel Lake, allowing for one of the coldest, most natural dips in the Northern Hemisphere. There is also one private cabin adjacent to the lodge with two beds and a bathroom. Smoking is not permitted inside Silvertip Lodge.

The price for the 2003 season is $ 124,870.00 CDN (approximately $ 79,033 US) for one week/maximum of 10 people.

CMH Heli-Skiing, founded in 1957 is the largest Heli-Skiing operation in the world. CMH is headquartered in Banff, Alberta with twelve areas located in the remote mountains of British Columbia and employs well over 500 staff. View CMH at http://www.cmhski.com or phone 1-800-661-0252.

###

Related Heli Skiing Press Releases

Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) May 7, 2009

Resort to Resort – an exclusive Global Homeowner Exchange network announced today that it has partnered with Rundle Cliff Luxury Mountain Lodge in Spring Creek, Canmore Alberta.

From humble beginnings as a coal mining town, Canmore is now a popular year-round vacation travel and resort destination. Nestled in the Canadian Rockies and at the entrance gates to Banff National Park, Canmore is the perfect setting for both summer and winter vacation travel, or that special weekend getaway. Spectacular scenery, fresh mountain air, and an abundance of activities to choose from make Canmore a picture-perfect resort town

A short walk from downtown Canmore, surrounded by the Canadian Rockies, Spring Creek is a 70 acre master-planned community that will feature streamside pathways, treed central meridians, pedestrian creek crossings, children’s playgrounds, alpine gardened courtyards, and a central water plaza. The project incorporates elements that are in keeping with the spirit of environmental stewardship and pays homage to the history of Canmore and the developer’s long-standing family roots in the property itself.

“I work hard on everything I do but Spring Creek is more than a development to me it is my home and for future generations it is so important to me that everything is done exactly right” says Frank Kernick Developer of Spring Creek. ‘My grandfather was proud of his dairy, my dad and uncle were proud of the campground and community they built on the land, now it’s my turn to make sure Spring Creek is the most spectacular community in the Canadian Rockies. I have a connection to this land and when it is all said and done I will be proud of this for the rest of my life.”

“The community and commitment to environmental stewardship that Frank Kernick brings as the developer of Spring Creek Is what makes Rundle Cliffs Mountain Lodge the ideal partner for the Resort to Resort network,” says Dean Kneider, Director Resort to Resort Global Exchange. ‘We are thrilled to have a property like Rundle Cliffs Mountain Lodge in our prestigious collection of resort properties. We are seeing an increase in the demand for community village travel destinations, and Rundle Cliffs Mountain Lodge has captured all the aspects that Resort to Resort members look for when choosing an exchange destination.”

About Rundle Cliffs Luxury Mountain Lodge

The development is sensitive to the environment and features mountain-inspired architecture, “green-built” homes and carefully designed landscaping, community space, pedestrian throughways and arched bridges. Luxurious condominium homes as well as single family home lots are available for sale immediately. Of course, the views of Canmore’s spectacular Rocky Mountain backdrop are exceptional. http://www.springcreekmv.com

About Resort to Resort

Resort to Resort is an exclusive Global Homeowner exchange network powered by Intrawest. It’s comprised of select whole ownership, fractional and condo hotel real estate developments at Intrawest resorts and a portfolio of carefully selected partner resorts.

For more information, visit Resort to Resort online: http://www.resort2resort.com

About Intrawest

Intrawest is a development and management of experiential destination resorts.
